Ha-Lo agrees to buy European premiums company

NILES, Ill.--Ha-Lo Industries, Niles, Ill., said it agreed to acquire Paris-based Parsons International Trading Business, which it described as one of Europe's largest premium companies. Terms were not disclosed. Ha-Lo describes itself as the largest distributor of promotional and premium advertising products in the U.S. Ha-Lo said privately-owned Parsons will generate estimated revenue of $45 million in 1999, and called the acquisition "an important step in our international expansion." It said Parsons clients include Unilever, Netsle, Yves Rocher and Daxson and operates offices in Holland, England, Italy and a sourcing office in Hong Kong. Separately, Ha-Lo said it agreed to acquire Cleveland-based promotional products company Incentive Merchandising Corp.
