Illinois-based HA-LO Industries named Marc Simon CEO to succeed John Kelley, who will remain with the company in a yet-to-be named leadership position that allows him "to focus his efforts on his talents, which are in the marketing services arena," a spokeswoman said. HA-LO's three marketing services units - Upshot Marketing Group, Market USA and LAGA - account for 25% of the company's total business, which comes predominantly from its promotional products division, HALO Branded Solutions. Mr. Simon, previously exec VP-operations at customer relationship management services provider APAC Customer Services, was on HA-LO's board and served as its counsel before he left his law firm in 1995 to join APAC. HA-LO, which reported higher-than-expected fourth-quarter and yearend losses today, also released a disposition plan indicating that it is in negotiations for the possible sale of one or more of its marketing services units.
