Hakuhodo creates added-value internet ad

TOKYO -- Hakuhodo has created a cyber ad-with- game-attached to run on the Internet.

The company intends to insert the image of a character called Gacharobo on about 10 popular homepages including Infoseek Japan's homepage.

When users click the image, a game will start. When the game is over, an ad for one of the participating sponsors runs for 15 seconds. The company plans to create 14 games and to recruit between five and 10 sponsors. The fee will be $33,000. The scheme is expected to get underway in mid-September.
