KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Hallmark Cards hopes to ring up success with its Long Distance Greetings prepaid calling cards, rolling out this month.

The venture between Hallmark and Sprint is the first product marrying greeting cards with the fast-growing category of prepaid long-distance calling cards. Hallmark began testing the product in five cities last fall.

Each $5.95 card offers 10 minutes of prepaid long-distance calling anywhere in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands via a toll-free Sprint number. The card includes a code authorizing the free calling.

The 24-card line hasn't yet been advertised, said Hallmark spokesmen. Leo Burnett USA, Chicago, is Hallmark's agency.
