Hardee's Food Systems, a unit of CKE Restaurants, Anaheim, Calif., awarded the national creative portion of its $100 million account to Johnson/Ukropina Creative Marketing, Irvine. The shop has handled local marketing for Hardee's sister chain Carl's Jr. for the past six years, and has done some work for the ailing Hardee's chain as it converts its restaurants to a new format called Star Hardee's. The win came without a review. The account had been housed at Leap Partnership, Chicago, the struggling chain's second agency in two years. The first new work is slated to break in March, said Robert Wisely, exec VP-marketing for CKE.
