Hasbro pays fine for ad

Published on .

Hasbro today agreed to pay a $280,000 penalty to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that its TV advertising misrepresented the Colorblaster paint sprayer. The FTC said Hasbro used a motorized air compressor to help power the toy used in the commercial, though children have to pump up the toy to get it to work. Hasbro agency Grey Advertising, New York, also settled on the Hasbro charges and a second FTC complaint accusing the agency of helping Dannon yogurt misrepresent some of its content.
