Hasbro, Pizza Hut in games nights tie-up

TORONTO--The Hasbro Games Group Canada of Toronto has launched a new campaign to encourage parents and kids to enjoy family game nights, in partnership with Pizza Hut, also of Toronto.

Promotional messages appear in Pizza Hut restaurants and in Hasbro retail stores across the country, while special stickers are appearing on boxes of Hasbro games, such as Monopoly, Scrabble and Yahtzee. Hasbro spokesperson Donna Piasentini says the popularity of games is on an uprise, reporting Hasbro has enjoyed annual sales increases of 10% since 1992.

Mattel Inc. of Toronto is also taking advantage of the rising popularity of games by promoting its classics, such as Toss Across, Tip It, Kerplunk and Rebound, in a TV ad created in the U.S. for the parent Mattel company.
