TAIPEI -- AXN Action TV, Asia's all action and adventure channel, has appointed Jeff Yao as director of AXN Taiwan to oversee distribution, ad sales, marketing, and business planning. "Jeff's experience in the Taiwan cable industry will be invaluable to AXN. He will be a tremendous asset and strong leader of AXN's growing staff of experienced, local professionals in Taiwan," says James Buklarewicz, CEO of AXN, a Sony Pictures Entertainment company.

Mr. Yao worked previously at Videoland, one of Taiwan's largest cable system operators and TV networks, where he was responsible for business strategy and market analysis. Prior to that, he was Director of the Videoland Movie Channel, Videoland Japanese Channel and Videoland TV Network's Corporate Planning Department.

AXN is now available to about five million households throughout Asia, including Taiwan, where it reaches approximately 80% of the country's cable households, in addition to Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Brunei and in hotels within China. AXN will launch soon in India, Sri Lanka and South Korea and a separate AXN channel has been launched in Japan.
