Hearst launches Argentine 'Cosmo'

NEW YORK -- Hearst Magazines International is launching the Argentina edition of Cosmopolitan in a joint venture with EDICO (Ediciones Continentales). The first edition of Argentine Cosmopolitan, which features cover photo of Argentine model Dolores Barreiro, hit newsstands on August 23. The circulation of the premier issue is 100,000 and will be published monthly.

In addition to advertising schedules for local products and services, advertisers in the premier issue include L'Oreal, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Clairol, Hewlett Packard, Peugeot and others.

EDICO is a joint venture between the 76-year-old Argentine magazine publisher Editorial Atlantida and Editorial Televisa, the magazine branch of Mexican media group Televisa. EDICO's business is focused on publishing and marketing magazines, books and other related products in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

Cosmopolitan is the largest selling young women's magazine in the world, reaching more than 30 million readers every month. There are now 28 international editions of Cosmopolitan.
