Hearst raids Conde Nast for new 'Harper's Bazaar' editor

Katherine Betts, 35, fashion news director of Conde Nast Publications' Vogue, was named editor in chief of Hearst Magazines' Harper's Bazaar this morning. She succeeds longtime Harper's Bazaar Editor in Chief Elizabeth Tilberis, who died in April. Ms. Tilberis had supervised work on issues through October. The first issue Ms. Betts will edit will be November, said Hearst Magazines President Cathleen P. Black.
