Hearst shuffles execs

Hearst Magazines' Jay McGill, VP-publisher, Country Living, was named to the newly created position of VP-group publisher for Popular Mechanics, Sports Afield, and Motor Boating & Sailing. Peg Farrell, VP-publisher, Marie Claire, becomes publisher of Country Living. Cynthia Lewis, associate publisher, Marie Claire, is promoted to publisher. Michael Wade, associate publisher of Sports Afield, becomes publisher of that magazine. Sports Afield Editor in Chief Terry McDonell, who also held the publisher title, becomes publishing and editorial director.
