Hertz rents cars via Pep Boys

Published on .

Pep Boys Corp., Philadelphia, and Hertz Corp., Park Ridge, N.J., are teaming up. Hertz plans to offer its rental cars at 200 of Pep Boys' Supercenters. Hertz tested the concept at Pep Boys stores in San Jose and San Leandro, Calif.; the company said it will evaluate other markets. Moss/Dragoti, New York, handles Hertz. DDB Worldwide, Chicago, handles Pep Boys. Moss/Dragoti recently created local ads for 21 states touting the chain's new certification service for car owners who want to sell their used vehicles privately. The ads were tested about a month ago in one undisclosed market.
