HGTV opens drive

Home & Garden Television next week begins its first marketing campaign. TV and national cable, plus ads in shelter publications and newspapers, are on the schedule. Promotions will tie in with design centers, hobby and garden clubs and chapters of the National Association of Home Builders. Lewis Advertising, Birmingham, Ala., is the agency. HGTV, owned by the E.W. Scripps Co., currently reaches 12 million-plus homes.
