High-tech glitch Rather embarrassing

Published on .

Beginning a demonstration to reporters on Wednesday morning of the new technology CBS News will use on election night, Dan Rather touched his touch screen and the display went black. "This is when I have to start ad-libbing like crazy," Mr. Rather quipped. "If that happens election night, there will be a lot of people out of work." Technicians soon got the system up and running and the anchorman was able to demonstrate how he will be able to instantaneously get graphics on the results and exit poll data from races in different states and regions.
