Hitachi names agencies

Hitachi PC Corp., San Jose, Calif., named the agencies that will handle a $30 million marketing campaign to back its new line of notebook computers that will be launched in the U.S. this spring. The Seiniger Technology division of the Seiniger Advertising Group, Beverly Hills, will handle advertising, direct mail and point of purchase; Phase Two Strategies, San Francisco, was named for public relations, Internet/online communications and special events; and Tolleson Design, San Francisco, for packaging, marketing collateral and launch materials. "Winning in today's business environment requires a new class of notebooks that are an integral part of a company's computing strategy," said Mark Yahiro, VP-marketing and business development of the new U.S. unit. "We plan to dominate this new era of notebook computing.
