Hog heaven on the Web

Published on .

Harley-Davidson Motor Co. roared onto the Web this week with a site created by veteran developer Organic Online, San Francisco. The site allows users a sneak peak at the 1997 motorcycle line, a look at 10 of America's greatest roads, an opportunity to chat with Harley riders and a glance back in time at the development of the motorcycle as part of Americana. The site also offers a few "surprises" on the back road paths and visits from the "Virtual Ranger" who appears randomly throughout the site. On a more practical level, the Harley site also provides riding, maintenance and safety tips; a state-by-state listing of road rules; info on genuine Harley parts and accessories; and a search engine that allows users to locate Harley dealers around the world.
