@Home acquires Narrative for $89 mil

High-speed Internet service @Home Networks said Dec. 18 it plans to acquire rich-media company Narrative Communications Corp., Waltham, Mass., for approximately $89 million. The purchase of Narrative, which develops Enliven multimedia advertising technology, will allow @Home to offer advertisers new interactive and commerce capabilities, as well as campaign tracking and reporting. Enliven advertisers now include General Motors Corp., Hewlett Packard Co., IBM Corp., Procter & Gamble Co. and Sprint Corp. Following an expected closing of the deal by early January, Narrative will become the Enliven business unit of @Home, Redwood City, Calif.
