Home Depot signs Olympics deal

Published on .

Home Depot is the latest company to sign as one of the long-term sponsor of the U.S. Olympic team, a deal that also gives the retailer U.S. sponsorship rights to the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. The eight-deal pact was packaged and sold by USOC division Olympic Properties of the United States. Home Depot will also underwrite the production and tour of two 40-minute IMAX films about the Olympics, called "Olympic Glory." Terms weren't disclosed, but the deal is believed to be worth tens of millions of dollars.
