Home shopping ended

Published on .

Shaw's Supermarkets, an East Bridgewater, Mass., chain of about 100 stores, has abandoned the electronic home shopping service it began last January, the first of its kind in Greater Boston. The service, which allows home-delivered orders to be placed by phone, fax or e-mail, has generated between 300 and 500 orders per week. Only about 5% of these were placed electronically.
