This 70-year-old monthly magazine is the only Sister that combines the traditional service of food, self-help and health with a heavy dose of shelter/remodeling news. It eschews fashion and beauty, and is the only Sister that mentions men in its editorial mission statement. The reader's median age is 42. Editor in Chief Jean LemMon revamped the look two years ago but not the underlying philosophy. "Our challenge always is to edit for families," she said. "We try to make everything that appears in BH&G affordable, achievable, believable and comfortable."
