American Honda Motor Co., citing cost cutting as the reason, willconsolidate the $190 million account of its Torrance, Calif.-based Acuraunit at Honda marque agency Rubin Postaer & Associates, Santa Monica. In anannouncement made this afternoon, Honda said it will pull Acura creativefrom Suissa Miller, Los Angeles, which won the account in October1996. Western Initiative, which handled Acura media, also was replaced by Rubin. Last February, Honda awarded Suissa Miller an additional $70 millionin billings for Acura's regional business after also considering RubinPostaer. Before picking up Acura, Rubin Postaer's Honda billings topped$350 million.
