HOOTERS MAY GO AIRBORNE
Racy Restaurant Chain Mulls Takeover of Vanguard Airlines
The air carrier, part of Hooters of America, will make its first flight from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach, S.C., March 6. Service to Myrtle Beach from Newark, N.J., via Atlanta begins March 20.
Hooters Air One is painted in the orange-and-white colors of the restaurant chain with Hooters Air graphics and the Hooters owl "Hootie" on the tail. Additional flights and cities will be added soon. Hooters Air ticket prices are set at a flat rate of $129 one-way.
A Hooters spokeswoman said the airline has not hired an agency and has no plans for a review. The company has produced an in-house series of billboards in the Atlanta area, as well as a TV commercial that will run later this month in each of the markets.
