HOT SPOT: QANTAS BACK IN THE GAME

Australia airline Qantas is using a new branding campaign, "Flying towards 2000," as its not-too-subtle bridge to the upcoming 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The airline, which lost out to rival Ansett Airlines as the official Olympic sponsor air carrier, will spend $5 million in print, TV, cinema and outdoor media. Ads, by M&C Saatchi, Sydney, focus on service upgrades such as an interactive entertainment system.
