HOT SPOT: SMITHKLINE BEECHAM;SMOKING OUT A BAD HABIT

In the midst of big campaigns for its Nicorette and Nicoderm smoking-cessation aids, SmithKline Beecham last week began airing an ad in support of the Great American Smokeout, Nov. 21. The ads don't mention Smith-Kline's products, but tell viewers non-prescription help is available. The spot from Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor, New York, will air through the smokeout at a cost of about $1 million.
