Hotmail revs up service

Hotmail Corp., a provider of free e-mail, has signed on more than two million subscribers for its Web-based ad-supported service. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based service claims it is signing up about 20,000 new subscribers a day. Hotmail also plans to introduce a delivery service called WebCourier, where Hotmail subscribers can request graphical e-mail messages to be delivered daily by any of the seven participating content providers, including CNET's News.com, NetGuide Live, Mercury Mail, Quote.com, GolfWeb, Riddler and Slate.
