Hotmail taps SIM to handle sales

Hotmail, a free e-mail service, has signed a two-year agreement for Softbank Interactive Marketing to sell advertising on its service. Hotmail, which launched nine months ago, also said it has registered more than 3 million users for its ad-supported e-mail service. Softbank also handles sales for Lycos, Netscape, ZDNet and Alta Vista, among others.
