(Aug. 27, 2001) -- Household International, a provider of financial services to consumers and businesses, has narrowed the field of agencies vying for its $15 million to $20 million corporate and business-to-business branding assignment.

The review process for the new assignment winnows the list from 12 to six agencies. They are: Omnicom Group agencies DDB Worldwide, New York and Martin/Williams, Minneapolis; Interpublic Group of Cos.' Gotham, New York; Saatchi & Saatchi, New York; WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson Co., Chicago; and Richards Group, Dallas.

The Prospect Heights, Ill.-based company owns popular consumer retail brands HFC and Beneficial, which are not part of the review.

MagiKbox, Greenwich, Conn., is leading the review. Meetings with the six agencies will be scheduled throughout September. A decision is expected in October. -- Tobi Elkin
