More Houston Effler changes

Published on .

Houston Effler Hampel Stefanides, New York, sister agency of Houston Herstek Favat, Boston, (known as Houston Effler Herstek Favat prior to this week), will restructure and change its name to Hampel Stefanides. The announcement comes on the heels of Monday's news that Don Effler, formerly president of Houston Effler Herstek Favat, has left and sold the equity he had held in both the New York and Boston shops, as well as in the Los Angeles-based Houston Effler Helm. The latter, according to Doug Houston, chairman of the three agencies, will be renamed Houston Helm & Co. Mr. Houston has denied reports that he is in negotiations with Dentsu Inc. or any other agency. "We have never, ever held any negotiations," said Mr. Houston.
