HP global ads start Dec. 1

Published on .

Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto, Calif., on Dec. 1 breaks its highly anticipated $200 million global brand campaign with teaser ads on TV and in print via Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco. The ads will feature a garage--used as a symbol of ingenuity and innovation, and the place where company founders David Packard and William Hewlett conceived HP in 1939. Also, HP CEO Carly Fiorina announced at this week's Comdex show a new logo. The image, from Landor Associates, San Francisco, features a lowercase graphic representation of the company's initials instead of its full name; the word "invent" is below the logo.
