HP, Reuters invest in Northern Light

Hewlett-Packard Co. and Reuters Group have just invested in Northern Light Technology, a search service that culls information from offline and online sources. Northern Light secured a total of $35 million from HP, Reuters and others. HP and Reuters said they'll work with Northern Light to create products focused on vertical information markets. Northern Light will use HP's Internet printing and personal publishing software so users can better print out Northern Light documents. So far, Northern Light has raised a total of $50 million since it was founded in 1996.
