Hughes named Conde Nast publisher of the year

Lisa Hughes of Conde Nast Traveler was named Conde Nast's publisher of the year last night at the company's annual publishers' conference, held this year at Key Largo Florida's exclusive resort The Breakers. Last year--for which Ms. Hughes was absent from the office for Ttwo months on maternity leave--Conde Nast Traveler's ad pages rose 7.1 percent to 1,578.8. Also announced last night was the promotion of Self publisher Beth Brenner, who gained the title of vice president.
