The 1999 commercial, "Boy Toy," depicts a woman who pulls up next to her husband at a red light. After the light changes and they drive their separate ways, up pops a man who was hiding in the woman's reclined passenger seat. Meanwhile, the commercial cuts back to the husband's car, revealing that he, too, has hidden a man in his reclined passenger seat. The spot ends with Hyundai's tagline, "The smarter choice."
More than 15,700 users of Gay.com and Planetout.com, sites belonging to parent company PlanetOut Partners, cast their votes in the online poll.
