Marketing Director Paul Sellers to Lead National Sales

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- The marketing chief for Hyundai Motor America is changing roles at the automaker, which said it exepcts to fill the marketing post soon.

Paul Sellers, who joined Hyundai as marketing director from American Honda Motor Co. five years ago, is moving laterally to executive director of national sales. Mr. Sellers had been executive director of marketing.

In his new role, his main duties will be national fleet sales.

Mr. Sellers was on the panel in 2002 for creative and media reviews that unbundled those marketing services from the now-defunct Bates West USA, Irvine, Calif. Independent Richards Group, Dallas, handles creative; Aegis Group's Carat North America has media buying.

Hyundai has continued increasing its vehicle sales in recent years and is launching a new corporate brand campaign to boost its image.

John Krafcik, vice president of product development and corporate strategy, will head marketing until a new chief is announced.
