(March 29, 2001) -- Following a three-month review, Golf Digest awarded its advertising account to Toolbox, New York. Previously, the monthly magazine did not have an agency. Four other undisclosed New York agencies competed for the branding assignment. Billings were not disclosed.

Golf Digest, with a circulation of 1.6 million, is slated to join Advance Publications on April 2 as part of Advance's acquisition of The New York Times Co.'s golf titles. The monthly's chief competitor, Golf Magazine, has a circulation of 1.4 million. That title became part of AOL Time Warner's Time Inc. unit last December. -- Laura Hughes
