IAB forms education, privacy council

The Internet Advertising Bureau is forming the Chief Privacy Officer Council, charged with educating and informing the online industry about the consumer privacy solutions available to Web sites and the most effective means for adoption and implementation of those policies. Jules Polonetsky, chief privacy officer, DoubleClick, and Ray Everett Church, VP-public policy and chief privacy officer, AllAdvantage.com, are initially co-chairmen of the countil. IAB hopes the council will bring together executives in charge of consumer privacy to work out best practices for privacy implementation.
