IBM adds Reuters news to infoMarket

Published on .

IBM's infoMarket search service on Dec. 12 launches a headline news service with Reuters called News Ticker. The downloadable service wraps headlines across the user's screen and provides stories in full text when a user clicks on them. While story text is free for now, next year users may have to either pay or register to see full-text articles depending on the preferences of the publisher.

Additional content providers for News Ticker will be announced in the coming weeks. Advertising is available for $5,000 per month. Three-month ad buys are $14,000; longer time increments will be further discounted.

Disclosure, a financial and management data company, is the first advertiser.
