IBM Corp., Somers, N.Y., on May 23 breaks a $150 million global marketing campaign touting how its software offerings--DB2, Lotus, Tivoli and Web-Sphere--support e-business. The effort by Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, kicks off on prime-time TV broadcasts featuring actor Avery Brooks, who portrayed Capt. Benjamin Sisko on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," explaining how the world is changing and successful e-businesses will need IBM software. Print ads begin in June and online ads later this summer. The effort deploys in Europe and Japan in the fall.
