IBM, NHL ponder interactive joint-venture

The National Hockey League and IBM Corp. will announce this week details of what could be an unprecedented sponsorship deal, possibly a three-year, $25 million pact. Terms call for the creation of a joint-venture to produce an array of sophisticated interactive programming that would be distributed over the Internet. IBM is said to be looking to strike similar arrangements with other sports organizations.
