IBM pitches OS/2

Published on .

IBM Corp. on Sept. 23 begins a print campaign in computer and business publications for OS/2 Warp 4, a new version of its operating system that allows users to give voice commands to PCs. The campaign from Ogilvy & Mather, New York, includes Web ads and direct mail. Ads will show various business scenarios and explain how the new OS/2 helps accomplish the task. The campaign comes two years after a failed effort by IBM to launch Warp as a head-on competitor to Microsoft Corp.'s Windows in the mass market.
