IBM pushes servers

IBM Corp., Somers, N.Y., on June 30 begins its broadest-ever campaign promoting servers, a multimillion-dollar blitz from Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, including print and TV. IBM's use of TV reflects the broadening market for servers, which have moved from back office to front-and-center for companies building business online. IBM's "magic box" campaign will promote a server family ranging from $1,600 Windows NT-based models up to $1 million mainframes.
