IDC study: E-mail on the rise

Published on .

Yes, it's true. That stack of e-mail isn't getting any smaller, according to a study by research consultancy International Data Corp., which said the e-mail deluge continues with no end in sight. The number of e-mails sent on an average day is expected to hit 10 billion worldwide this year; by 2005, this will more than triple to a staggering 35 billion e-mails sent daily. Additionally, Web browsers will finally surpass all other primary ways of accessing e-mail mailboxes in North America this year, IDC said.
