IDG forms new unit

International Data Group, Boston, merged its marketing services groups into IDG Global Solutions. The new unit will package IDG's publishing, Web, research, event and training properties for technology marketers. IDG named Richard Marino and Joe Levy as exec VPs over the unit. Mr. Marino will retain his post as president-CEO of IDG's PC World Communications, while Mr. Levy will remain president-CEO of CIO Communications. Frank Cutitta and Bernie Theobald, who ran IDG Marketing Services in the U.S., now will report to Mr. Marino.
