on Wednesday unveiled the Global Web Advertising Network, a service that provides a central means to purchase advertising across IDG's 140 Web sites worldwide. Advertisers can target messages across IDG's sites by browser, operating system, geographic location and unique user. IDG has tapped Focalink Communications to handle ad management functions like placing ads and reporting traffic. More than 60 IDG sites in 12 countries are immediately available to advertisers; the company plans to add another 60 by the end of summer. IDG publishes magazines including Computerworld
