IDG signs $500,000 Web ad deal with Digital

International Data Group has signed an approximately $500,000 Web contract with Digital Equipment Corp. covering 14 countries over nine months, the tech media power's biggest and longest Web ad deal to date. IDG negotiated the agreement with Digital and DDB Needham Worldwide, New York.

Laurie Morgan, publisher of, said Digital will get discounts available to advertisers that buy more than four sites for three months or longer. The deal allows Digital to plan its Web media buy, get more consistent reporting and see where its buy stands by logging into IDG's site, she said.
