HONG KONG--The International Herald Tribune has appointed Randy Weddle as managing director and Achilles Tsaltas, as deputy managing director for Asia/Pacific.

Mr. Weddle, 45, joined the IHT in 1990 as director of promotions based in the newspaper's Paris headquarters. He subsequently served as director of communications, marketing director Asia/Pacific and, most recently, acting managing director for Asia following the resignation of Nigel Oakins last January. Before joining the IHT, he worked with several ad agencies in New York, including Saatchi & Saatchi and Wells Rich Greene BDDP.

Mr. Tsaltas, 34, joined the IHT as executive director, business development, Asia Pacific one year ago from News Limited in Sydney, where he was national advertising manager for TheAustralian and The Australian Magazine.

The IHT's Asian circulation grew 7% in 1999.
