Impact of sponsored events cited

Published on .

American Coalition for Entertainment & Sports Sponsorship, Washington, formed to promote and protect sponsorship of sports and entertainment events, released what it called a first of its kind economic impact analysis examining how professional motorsports, rodeo and other premier sponsored sports and entertainment events affect local communities. It said the 100 events in the analysis pumped $1.8 billion into local economies. Among the events covered are those on the Nascar Winston Cup Series; PPG CART World Series; NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series; AMA Superbike Series; UHRA hydroplane series; PRCA-sanctioned rodeos and major sports shows.
