(May 25, 2001) -- Impower, the Princeton, N.J.-based provider of online marketing solutions, has made several executive appointments. The company has named Gregory C. Ellis as president and chief operating officer.

Mr. Ellis, who will report to chairman-CEO Donn Rappaport, will have responsibility for the company's direct marketing services. Mr. Ellis had been with Doubleclick, where he worked on the company's research business and negotiated the company's purchase of online media planning company @plan. He has also served as corporate chief operating officer-CEO of the Global Market Research Unit of Opinion Research Corporation.

Eric Zilling, a co-founder of the company, has been named president of the e-mail database division, ImpowerBase. Mr. Zilling, who had been the company's chief strategic officer, will oversee ImpowerBase and ImpowerMail, an e-mail distribution service. Impower was launched in 1996 as a division of American List Counsel, a mailing list and data marketing company. -- Catharine P. Taylor
