Indian Express Launches Internet Edition

Published on .

BOMBAY -- The Indian Express, one of India's leading daily newspapers, is now available on the Internet through a Web site, http://express.indiaworld.com.

Within 24 hours of the launch, the site registered 17,000 hits.

"We expect the numbers to swell soon. This is because our business newspaper, The Financial Express, will also start appearing on this site every day in a fortnight from now. Gradually, we hope to add several other unique features on this site," says Vivek Goenka, chairman of The Indian Express Group in Bombay.

The Indian Express joins The Hindu, southern India's leading newspaper, which was already online.
