Indian newspaper publisher puts recruitment on the Web

Published on .

BOMBAY--Bennett, Coleman & Co., India's largest newspaper publisher, is building up its presence on the Internet with the launch of yet another cyberspace spin-off.

The Bombay-based publisher's Times Interactive division, only a month after launching its indiatimes.com web site, has debuted a recruitment site, branded timesjobsandcareers.com. The new site allows visitors to search for current job openings in India and overseas, to post their resumes, and match jobs with resumes. Identities are kept secret from potential employers.

"Now the easiest way to get a job is to hand over your resume to the most efficient job hunter. The mouse" reads the headline of an ad created in-house and released in select Bennett papers.

Bennett's Times of India newspaper is India's largest circulating English daily and The Economic Times the country's No. 1 business broadsheet and the world's second largest in circulation after Dow Jones & Co.'s Wall Street Journal.
