Person-alized e-mail newsletter InfoBeat, New York, inked a deal with Boston-based college marketing agency Magma Group to promote its interactive e-mail offerings to students via a grassroots campaign on more than 700 campuses nationwide. The push, which relies on Magma's "student rep'' network of 6,000 student organizations that receive fund-raising programs in exchange for signing on new subscribers, will run through December 2001. The effort also will include event marketing at college festivals in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington in an effort to market the InfoBeat brand offline. InfoBeat offers e-mail newsletters on various topics such as music, movies and sports.
